Apparently, the cupboard of linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys is full, as the team released linebacker Kevin DeRonde. The move eliminates a roster exemption the NFL allows for keeping NFL Europe players on the team.
DeRonde (6-5, 259) originally signed with the Cowboys as a rookie free agent in 2002.
The Iowa State product went to training camp with the Cowboys in 2002 and 2003, but was released both times. This year the Cowboys allocated DeRonde to NFL Europe, where he had 28 tackles and one sack for the Frankfurt Galaxy.
It marked the third consecutive season that DeRonde had spent in NFL Europe, two with the Cowboys and one with the Titans in 2004.
